Nestled against the breathtaking backdrop of the Franschhoek Valley, Mont Rochelle is a five-star retreat and wine farm owned by Sir Richard Branson, part of his exclusive Virgin Limited Edition collection. This exceptional venue offers a unique blend of luxury and comfort, set within stunning surroundings.

Accommodation options are the hotel swell as the Manor House. We were lucky enough to experience the Manor house, which boasts 2 beautiful private swimming pools, 4 beautifully decorated suites and a children’s bunk room (that can sleep up to 6 children), a games room, a reading room and then one large and luxurious open plan kitchen and lounge,as well as an inside and outside dining room. It also has an outdoor kitchen (whichever you prefer). You have the added option of dining at the hotel.  Peter, the Host Manager is incredibly helpful and ensures stay are effortless.

The breakfast spread includes local delicacies, laid out in the kitchen each morning. All food is inclusive within the room rates. Dietary requirements are taken into account upon request.

Each room is airy , chic and tastefully decorated. Local artisan products decorate the space and familiar african artists’ pieces compliment the walls. The décor is modern and sophisticated, yet  comfortable. All the furnishings and fabrics are solid and plush, with a distinct African feel to them. Natural elements like wood and stone are used throughout adding to the space’s calm and warmth.

The Viogner Suite located next to the private gym is our favourite room. Being  completely private with a fireplace, it has dramatic views from the bed and boasts a  bathroom with a large open air shower. All bathrooms are stocked with fluffy robes and Africology products, a local luxury botanical beauty brand.

Each Virgin property has their own signature duck, an amusing touch to this phenomenal property.
